The history of UBC . . .

Before the Wright Brothers flew at Kitty Hawk, before Edison dreamed up modern lighting and telecommunications, and before the U.S.'s great war between the states, a small lumber company opened its doors on the shores of the Mississippi River. And today, with more than 180 centers, United Building Centers joins sister companies, Lumbermens, Spenard Building Supply (SBS), Dixieline, F.E. Wheaton, Home Lumber, Hope Lumber, Strober Building Supply and The Contractor Yard to serve customers throughout the nation under our parent company, Pro-Build.

Follow the timeline below to learn how our solid roots continue to support our strong, healthy growth.
